For too long, Americans have lacked a clear path for contributing to Israeli and Palestinian peacemaking. We know that Israelis and Palestinians are both victims of an ongoing conflict, and that both peoples deserve to live in peace with security, dignity, and mutual recognition. We believe that the responsibility for creating this peaceful future ultimately lies with the Israeli and Palestinian people. However, we have an important role to play in lifting up the work of the thousands of Israelis and Palestinians coming together every day to build a better future.
We are inspired by prior successful resolutions of seemingly intractable conflicts, and know that valuable lesson can be drawn from their history. In Northern Ireland, for example, positive change was effected by investing in people-to-people programs. That is why we are part of Boston Partners for Peace. Boston Partners for Peace is a coalition of Boston-based changemakers championing the Israelis and Palestinians who are building peace together every day. We are proud to sign on as members of this coalition with the steadfast conviction that these efforts will help bring much needed peace and justice to, and an end to the suffering of, the Israeli and Palestinian people.
